This is a genuine career-pathway opportunity into senior management for a proactive, motivated and experienced insurance works professional looking to lead the development of a new business unit specialising in strata insurance projects and facilities management.

The Opportunity

This is a brand new position for the company in Queensland.

Reporting to the National Manager, you will be supported to establish and grow a specialist business unit in Queensland, responding to Strata and Facilities projects.

As such, you will commence in a hands-on Project Manager capacity with a higher-level remit to guide the business unit’s strategy, convert projects, undertake key client / stakeholder management and execute project delivery requirements.

The successful execution of the above will result in you backfilling your own functions as you establish yourself as the Business Unit / Division Manager role, leading the Queensland Strata and Facilities Division of a major National company.   

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the establishment of a new Qld business unit focused on strata insurance projects and facilities management predominately across SEQ.
  • Assist the National Manager with client representation and conversion strategies.
  • Oversee the full project lifecycle across a diverse portfolio of restoration, repair, and facilities maintenance projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and compliance.
    • Undertake site assessments / measures, estimates and scoping.
    • Engage make-safe teams, undertake trade engagement / coordination and project management.
  • In time; recruit, mentor, and lead a multidisciplinary team of project managers, estimators, administrators, and site supervisors.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for key clients, insurers, strata managers, and industry partners, cultivating trusted relationships and driving further business growth.
  • Assist in the establishment of division KPIs, growth targets and division reporting requirements.

Candidate Profile 

  • Strata-specific experience within the insurance works sector is essential.
  • Equally, a strong background in project delivery including estimating insurance, remediation and facilities management projects for a principal contractor (builder) is required.
  • A proven ability to deliver complex projects in fast-paced environments.
  • A track record of building and retaining client relationships, growing service offerings, and achieving commercial targets.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, insurance processes, and strata management frameworks / reporting requirements.
  • Outstanding organisational, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Relevant trade and / or tertiary qualifications in construction management, engineering, or a related discipline are preferred but not essential.
  • Willingness to take ownership, be accountable, and excel in an environment where individual contributions shape the business’s future.
