« Back to jobs listing
Location: Brisbane , Qld
Sectors: Architecture, Construction
Type: Full-time
Salary: $100,000 - $140,000.

This is an enviable opportunity for an intermediate / developing design professional to join an expanding Queensland established builder with the objective to invest and expand their pre-construction capability.

Working directly with a highly renown senior mentor, you will be afforded a pathway towards design management functions in time, but must be willing to apply yourself to hands-on documentation of projects, consultant coordination, assisting project delivery teams and supporting conversion functions as you develop your higher level capabilities.

The position would suit an emerging professional with a minimum of 4-5 years Revit experience (additional BIM capabilities would be highly attractive), who is seeking a pragmatic design pathway in the principal contractor environment.

Works will predominately cover non-residential format (i.e. no multi-story apartments) and focus on commercial, industrial, hospitality, aged care, health and education sectors circa $3M – $25M.

You may be currently delivering projects in the principle contractor environment for a construction firm in a formal Revit technician, Drafter, Architect or Design Coordinator capacity, or have a hands-on, drawing / documentation / modelling orientated role in an architectural practice covering the above disciplines.

You must be based in Brisbane with the ability to work from head office – city fringe / inner south.

You will be required to engage with new and existing clients in association with a team of industry specialists, supporting a Senior Design Manager in the pre-construction process to achieve brief, program and budget requirements, delivering cost and design solutions.

You will be responsible for;

  • Developing project design and documentation from schematic design stage, concept layouts to construction contract stage.
  • Coordinating and maintaining project 3D models utilising Revit and ACC systems.
  • Assisting the Design Manager in the development of the Clients Brief.
  • Monitoring and mitigating project risks and escalating concerns where relevant.
  • Coordinating and driving the client, design consultants, suppliers and relevant stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Attending meetings to assist clarification of any project design and construction issues; And,
  • Simultaneously managing a small number of projects in various stages of the design and construct cycle.

If you are waiting for the right career opportunity to ‘cross the fence’ into the commercial building industry or simply want a positive, supportive and pragmatic project environment that is devoid of ‘architectural ego’, we want to speak to you!

The role offers an attractive salary package commensurate upon skills and experience.
